In a groundbreaking webinar hosted by the Society of Plastics Engineers, industry leaders came together to explore cutting-edge cooling strategies in plastic injection molding. The presentation emphasized the critical role of the cooling stage, and identified industry challenges like shortening lead-times, skilled labor shortages, sustainability goals, and traditional manufacturing. This collaborative project between SimForm, Mantle, and CITO showcased how generative cooling design and simulation, 3D printing, and PulseCooling technology work together to provide a comprehensive solution to address these challenges.
SimForm's ability to evaluate part and mold temperature and actually recommend where to design cooling channels is a game changer for the tooling industry, producing molds with a shorter cycle time in shorter lead times. Mantle’s automated toolmaking, combining material extrusion and CNC machining, makes it possible to efficiently print inserts with complex conformal channels. CITO’s PulseCooling manifolds and controllers reduce your energy consumption and cycle times by only cooling the mold when it is needed.
